Lakeland Inns

Stringers Brewery is owned by Lakeland Inns, a family business based in beautiful South Lakeland, just a stone’s throw away from the Lake District.

The company runs five pubs in the area:

The Sun Inn

The Sun Inna newly refurbished grade II listed coaching inn, is situated in the heart of Ulverston Town Centre.

Whether you are looking for a delicious meal, somewhere to stay or drinks with friends, The Sun Inn has everything you are looking for and more. Our new bar area boasts a large selection of local real ales, great quality wines, and our menu has been handpicked by our chef to ensure there is something to suit all tastes.

The Commodore Inn

The Commodore The Commodore Inn is a pub and restaurant with 6 en-suite rooms. Located on the edge of the Lake District, overlooking Morecambe bay. We serve traditional pub food with a twist, sourced locally from in and around the Lakes. Our menu is updated regularly offering fresh seasonal produce. We have a stunning restaurant upstairs which boasts beautiful views of the bay, perfect for dining, parties, special celebrations, or even a quiet meal for 2. We welcome families and children.Dogs are also very welcome in our bar area.


The Black Cock Inn

The Black Cock Inn A Traditional Country Pub & Kitchen In Broughton In Furness. Couples, Families, Groups & Parties, a Destination for everyone. Popular amongst locals and visitors alike, you will find a warm welcome inside our cosy retreat. Dogs are always very welcome. A Charming 18th Century Inn with Real Log Fires in winter, and outdoor seating to soak up the sun when it’s warm. Located on the edge of the lake district, The Black Cock Inn is the ultimate destination for great food & accommodation, with a Menu based around Seasonal, Local Produce, all cooked Fresh to order.

Situated in the idyllic village of Spark Bridge just outside Ulverston, The Royal Oak is a great place to stay as a gateway to exploring The Lake District. You will find cosy, traditional rooms, ales brewed locally in our very own Lakeland Brewhouse and an extensive range of spirits and wines available. If you want a little more privacy, choose to book a stay in our quaint Oak Cottage. Expect a fresh and seasonal menu, filled with elevated pub favourites and world influenced food with bags of flavour! As always underpinned by classic cooking techniques and the finest fresh ingredients all locally sourced. Whether you choose to enjoy all of this in front of the cosy log fire or out in the beer garden next to the river on a sunny day, a warm welcome always awaits.

The Royal Oak Inn Curthwaite Our quintessential village inn is full of character and charm. The Royal Oak Inn has been tastefully modernised whilst still holding onto its traditional village pub charm, boasting a beautiful outdoor space to relax on sunny days and a modern intimate bar & restaurant. Our menu uses the finest local ingredients all cooked fresh to order, whether you are looking for a cask ale brewed in our own Lakeland Brewhouse, a premium Gin or a bite to eat we have something for everyone.
